Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.

Anyone make their own contol arms?

Hey, you don't sound like an engineer . . . you sound like a manager who used to be an engineer.

I've been checking this site out... looks like buying the necessary parts isn't all that hard.

I'll be building my own for sure... when I have the money.

Default Homemade control arms

I have a 4" lift up front and didn't want to spend $350 on lower control arms so I went to the local off road shop and picked up some stock arms for free cut and lengthened them to specs for 4" lift and have been using them for about 20K miles. A little tricky to lengthen cause of the angles but mine worked out fine.

Upper front parts bought from a Local Fab Shop.

Rear lowers are 1-3/4x.375 bored and tapped to 1.25-14 with Ballistic joints.

Upper front and Lowers. Rear uppers are Teraflex but I will change to a 3-link soon.

I love this thread, I fabricate parts all the time and never thought about building my own long arm. $1k is a whole lot cheaper than $2k. I am a good welder, my son is a damn good welder. This is a no brainer.
