if you want a little bit of height then i would say look at the 2.5" lift and 3" lift range. keep in mind most suspension systems yeild more then they advertise, such as Rubicon Express and Old Man Emu, if you're wanting 33's and want some height i would say a 2.5" lift. It's enough height to make it still look good while seeming a little tall. in my opinion

You can but you rub with the sways connected off road, ask me how I know
haha
Here is 33's with 2" OME
The OME 2" gets you a little closer to 3 inchs if you run the HD coils with stock bumper and no winch etc you'll be closer to 3.5 is my understanding.
Good luck

OK OK, you beat me down. I think I will stick with a 3" or less. The next question is why would I go with a (say Teraflex) coil lift over a long arm lift (lets also say Teraflex) or vice versa?

Coil lifts(much more affordable) can be upgraded to be a long arm.

Since you asked, here's a couple of pics of my jeep - the first with a RC 4" lift and the stock Sahara Bridgestone Duellers on 18s which are closer to a 32 than a 33....
followed by a similar shot with the same lift and going to the 35s on 16s...
The pictures speak for themselves... Like most have said, 33s and 4" is probably not a desirable combination unless you just need the room for articulation... from a visual standpoint, it looks a little out of place... definitely go to 35s in the least if you go 4" or if you plan on going no bigger than 33s, just do a budget boost or a 2.5" to keep the aesthetics.
