Any one lifted running metric tires?
When I purchased my Jeep it has General Red Letter Grappler tires on it 33X12.50 X 17 and on my next set if tires i was thinking about goin back to a narrower tire for better fuel Eco and a lighter tire... I want to stay with 33's though even in the metric which is the 285 i believe... I have a 2.5 tearaflex budget boost on right now and getting ready to put a 3" lift on and my concern is i don't know if my jeep will ook stupid with a narrower tire on instead of the 12.50... Is anyone running a narrower tire with a lift? Any pics ?

That is basically all opinion. A 285 shouldn't look too bad being about 33 inches tall. In my opinion I'll never run narrower than an 12.5 but that's just me. If you are worried about weight that 1 inch or so isn't going to make a difference large enough to make the sacrifice worth it. If you are considering a metric sizes or any sizes for that matter just check out the weight for all different tires you want and see how the weight varies throughout the sizes, you might be surprised. Just do your research and at the end of the day pick what makes you happy. You can't go wrong either way. Good luck

These BFG AT's measure out to 34.5 x 11.5. I believe they are the 118R (narrower) version of the 315 tire size.

I did looking up a few weeks ago. I was going to go with 315/70-17 over a 35x12.5
The metric size figured to be 34.4x12.4
There wasn't much of a size change in inches and only 2lbs. I went with the true 35" and am really happy
