According to the Tom Woods web site, the angle should be less than 3°.
Ok I will check mine, thanks for the info.

SHITE! Just installed my prorock and everything seemed fine, then started feeling the vibration at 50-55 mph and it seems to be getting worse. When I get to 65-70mph I dont feel anything. This is just freaking weird. I have a feeling that an atlas is in my future. But, if the angle is still off, the atlas wont hold up as well either right? I got the 1310 front drive shaft now. Getting ready to make a long trip out west and need to figure this out asap.

Are there any confirmed cases of this happening with small lifts (2.5" or under) and stock drive shafts? Or is it only a 3"+ lift with aftermarket shaft problem?

Holy hell runit3, sorry to see this post but glad you're alright. This really scares me as I'm looking at purchasing a new front ds to replace the stock one. I've already had to reseal the tranny pan because the stock ds knocked into it. I've got a 4 inch lift but have 4.10 gears for now. I'm wondering if this gear setup would help keep vibes down at highway speeds and minimize possibly of case exploding Looks like purchasing a fire extinguisher is in near future.

I have an auto 2.5" lift and just replace my front shaft. I have a double cordon at the t case and a regular u joint at the front diff. Just make sure you have a straight shot to the diff if you are going to use a regular u joint. Here is a pic of what my ds looks like going into the front diff. I have no vibrations up to 65-70 mph.

Consider removing the front DS to see if it eliminates the vibration. Let us know the outcome. I removed the front DS from my JK and it helped a little but I still feel/hear a slight vibration. I think having the front DS installed amplifies what I consider to be a t-case issue. I may remove the rear DS this weekend and run it with only the front DS to see if anything changes.

Have the ds checked to be sure it is ballanced correctly.

This drive shaft, that drive shaft, I understand that angle is important but so is balance. I haven't seen anyone on this ask each other about getting the DS balanced. Think about it, it's no different than a tire. Something spinning that fast, if the weight is not proportional than it's gunna give!

Default Another worried member.

Well now you guys have gotten me worried. I've been searching for the mods that I plan on getting and getting the ones that I want as I can afford them. Unfortunately with a few household issues that I've had to deal with there has been a slight pause in the "getting" of the mods that I've decided upon. That being said I have gotten a 3.5" RC lift. Here is a link to the lift. My DS and all other drive shaft components are stock. After reading this and several other reports of the transfer case exploding I have a few questions: I plan on getting these wheels and mounting these tires on them within the next month or so. A few months down the road I plan on getting 5.13 gears to compensate for the larger tires. If I go with my current selection, in the order that I have in mind, it looks like I will be a prime candidate for this catastrophe. Would you guys recommend getting a DS before I get anything else? Or would it be okay to get the wheel/tire combo I selected and get a DS before regearing? Or would it be okay to get everything and run stock DS until I am ready to upgrade? This is my DD, but I do offroad on the occasion.
