Default Amazing day in the mountains

Just had to share my day! It's been a long time since I have taken the Jeep offroad and it felt amazing. It was just me, so nothing crazy, but I did end up on a fairly difficult trail with steep hills and lots of rocks.

I'm new to the LA area, any tips on where to go? I went up to Big Bear, well I turned at Green Lake and basically drove around the entire mountain. Got lost at the end and had to cross over a rail road in order to get back on the main road. Long day, but had a lot of fun. No doors or roof was a bit chilly as it was 42 on the mountain.

Here are some photos, hard to snap good shots when you are out alone.

Nice man! funny I did the exact same thing today... Been awhile and itchin to wheel, so went solo, even got out and took pics. As long as you don't get too wild, off roading by yourself can be awesome! Just a man and his JeepClick image for larger version

You should come out to Big Bear Forest Fest in 3 weeks. Tons of expert-led group trail runs and a huge expo at Snow Valley. Just need to make sure they have space left as spots are limited.

Should be one of, if not the best off-road events of the year!

I got inspired after day 1, so I went out again on Sunday. Found a nice little trail around Palmdale, 75 miles from my house. It was a very easy trail until I went to far up on a tiny mountain trail. Had to back out a bit, but still not bad. Here are some photos.

That is awesome, and absolutely, not carried away, just enough off road to feel completely alone!
