Default Alternative Fire Extinguisher Mount

I know mounting you`re fire extinguisher has been posted before, but I found a place that works GREAT for me and thought I`d share some info.I purchased these extra long jobbers at Costco-2 combo pack for $20 bones.Gotta love Costco!!! Anyway,I wanted to mount these someplace readily available, secure, and yet still sorta out of sight. For those who have a soft top,the plastic side window supports looked like as good a place as any.The extinguishers fit absolutely PERFECT in this space!!!As you can see by the pics,I just used the plastic bracket that came with the extinguishers as a template to drill my holes.2 small holes were all thats needed.I then used 3/16" (long) aluminum rivets to attach the bracket.I also used a rivet washer so the rivets wouldn`t pull through. 4 rivets ,a drill, and about a half hour later,VIOLA!I may dab on some paint over the rivet heads to conceal them. With the soft sides on,you can hardly see the rivet head bulge.Hope this will help some people out that are looking for a different location to mount.

Excellent location! Great idea, but I never have my door frames on when I'm wheeling.
