Its for driving in deep snow. The large the contact patch, the less PSI you apply the ground, which means the less you sink in the snow. Kind of like driving in the snow with MATT tracks.

might just be me but i think that is pretty dam cool

after looking at it again check out the 2 hoses coming out of the hood almost looks like a snorkel of some kind.

it's really bothering me i want to know why the 2 hoses coming out of the hood where the intake would be and why do they split like that.
