its a good idea...and they did a great job by the l ooks of it...but like when people asked me to order the 3rd row seat for the back of there volvo v70 & v70cx i asked them....." is it really worth putting your kids in a crumple zone?" some ordered it. some didnt.

What type of seat did you install? Is it a rear CJ or TJ seat?

If only adults who can make their own decisions sat in the 3rd row I say great mod and go for it. But when it comes to kids who rely on the adult's judgement, I say no go.

This is kind of like putting a bench seat in the bed of a pick up truck. Sure it'll fit but it wasn't meant for that. There's plenty of mods you can make that weren't necessarily designed for the way we use them but when it comes to a safety change, you shouldn't take chances.

When they add a 3rd row to SUVs they have to go through LOADS of safety testing to ensure the design meets standards, etc. It doesn't ensure that you'll tottaly escape harm but at least there's additonal measures incoporated in the design to help mitigate the harm.
