Most shops are adding a transmission with the conversion to handle the extra power. Some of them are using Dodge truck transmissions.

Very cool! Who's Jeep is it? I see a Texas JK-forum sticker on it.

I believe it's TKJEEP's jeep. He mentioned in another thread that SLC was doing his 5.7 6 speed swap.

Yes it is his JK. Picked it up from him just the other day and we are going to get started today. Looking forward to getting this one done. Great customer and great chance to make the owners dream come true.

Do you use the stock JK 6 speed for the swap?

The JK's 6sp does get replaced. A Mopar 6sp from a truck gets used, instead.

More pics to follow this afternoon - we'll keep you posted!

I notice you got the SLC decals on it already

Question for ya's.....have you ever used a spal fan for any of your builds? Any idea what our stock fan speeds are? I would like to replace my stock fan with one from spal, I've seen they are waterproof. I've already replaced mine 3times and there have been others with the same problem. Someone forgot to tell jeep engineers its bad idea to put holes in the fan motor

Oh and I've already replaced my rad with a aluminum griffin

Never used spal on the JK but on the TJ sure. I will have to look but if the mounting points are good i think another Mopar fan would work.

I heard rumor the late model fan is different have not verified yet

I'm curious...what do you do with the engines and trannys you take out?

Some Customers take them. I have found that it is a real soft market for resale. Basically push to side and wait or we have a local salvage yard that stores them for us and lists for sale.
