Yes the manual trans from a dodge dakota pick up will work. That is the getrag 238. The manual from the 1500 series on up is way too big in size to work in the jeep.

My understanding from talking to Dan at Burnsville before I decided to go with the AEV kit was that the 4.7 and the hemi's shared the same bolt pattern for the bell housing. You should give Dan a call if your going with a manual trans. I've always been a manual trans guy but I actually like the 5-45RFE behind the hemi in my Jeep.

It might work, I would still talk to someone like Dan or the guys at Screamin lizard who have actually done the manual trans with hemi conversion on a JK to see what kind of issues there might be.

If you go with a 6.1L or 6.4L Hemi you don't get the MDS feature like the 5.7L Hemi. I have seen several LX forum members place on the Paxton supercharger on a Magnum/Charger/300C and gain the extra +90HP and still have better fuel economy with the MDS vs the 6.1L Hemi as well.....a few still ran with 89 Octane vs the +91 Octane the 6.1 and 6.4L Hemi's required.

true. but I talked to camp when I was in the show last week. he told me a manual will not work! I know I know i'm bitchin abt the trany

but really thats what I want

do I need a super charger. No I don't! with eaither engine, I will have enough power to move the Jeep.

It's just standing out. and It will be used on sand dunes as well. so I could use it for that.

Give Dan a call. I'm sure for the right money you can probably get it any way you want.
