Default 5.7 Hemi to be a 6.1 - 6.4

So a buddy of mine took out and rebuilt a 5.7 Hemi thats out of a GC

He is asking 4K for it.

1- is that a reasonable price for a rebuilt motor?

I'm thinking If I bought it I would like it to be modified ( since it's not put back together) to a 6.1/6.4 Hemi

2- Would it be possible to have a manual for a 6.1 6.4? ( I know the new chargers have manuals in them and they have a 6.1 Hemi)

3- If that doesn't work would an adapter work with the 6spd I have now?

4- I want to supercharge this engine but also use it as a Daily driver ( any recommendations? ( I hear of some mods being done to the engine it's self) to make it handle all of that power.

Thanks

I think you could get a used engine and tranny cheaper then what he is asking.

to answer your second question, YES, you can use Getrag-238 manual transmission with 6.1 hemi, it works well.

Unless this was a close friend i would watch out for the word "rebuilt"

sometimes if the job is not done properly or by a professional the motor could only last for about 15000 miles, for instance, when he bored out the engine if he didnt hone it properly this could throw off the pistons....blah blah blah you get the big pic

You can try a Paxton, Procharger or Votech superchargers to fit the 5.7L Hemi\s

ALL LX platform vehicles (Charger/300/Dufunked Magnum) all came with the 5 speed manualmatic tranny . The new Challenger will be available with a manual I believe for the 09/10 model year.

I did some research and I think a 6 speed manual from a dodge pickup will work!

and this is how my mods will go

D60 Pro rock axles really soon
1350 custom driveshafts
beadlocks on 42" toyos
Evo coil over system front and rear + 2" upgrade
Engine swap
supercharger

in between all that I need

4 corbeau seats
PJ tire carrier whenever they have one
AUX fuel tank
custom skids
rear winch
and some other stuff
