Default 35's and a fender chop

Finally got around to installing my 2.5" RC lift and decided to get some bigger meats. At first I was going to get some 33's (I was currently running 31) but at the last minute I changed my order to 35's Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar.

The day after getting them installed we ran down to a local trail to try them out but before we could even start the trail we were rubbing like crazy. Nearly tore off a fender! During the next week we decided to chop the fenders in hopes of getting enough clearance and today we ran the trail again but had success! (only a little rubbing at full flex)

Our wheelin buddies:

Can't wait to give this setup a real test in Moab during Memorial Day Weekend.

Very nice!

That is the style of fender chop that I want to do to mine, but with the Bushwackers.

I have a ARB front bumper and I want to keep line flow of the bumper with the fenders.

BTW, are you getting any flapping at highway speeds?

Nice. Cool pooch pic too.

What axle ratio you have in your S? Suffer significantly decreased performance on-road and off because of the 35s?

Nope, I was a little worried but these things are pretty sturdy. I bought a few new clips so I could replace a few that were broken but they seem great (I think I've been up to about 75mph)

I was a little worried about this but I have 4.10's so overall it isn't too bad. It's a dog on acceleration unless I floor it and crank the rpm's up but I drive like a grandma so it seems fine to me. I haven't calibrated my speedo yet so cruising at 65mph I have lower rpm's than I had when I was running 31's. On the trail I didn't even notice a difference, I think that's due to how kick ass these tires are when they grip the rocks.
