Default 35" tires on 18" Sahara wheels?? Anyone have pics?

Hey guys, while comtemplating wheels and tires and keeping budget in mind. My alternative is to just put 35s on my stock Sahara wheels. I'm hoping to see a pic of a JK with a 2.5 - 4 inch lift with the stock wheels, bigger tires and the correct spacing.

Please post. Really hoping to see it in black, but any color would be appreciated!

Thanks

B

I'm in the same boat as you. The problem is, the price difference per tire is pretty big when you jump from 17's to 18's. I've priced it out, and it is probably cheaper to buy a set of (5) 17" soft-8 steel wheels AND tires than it is to just buy the same tires in 18". Keep in mind that if you buy new wheels, you will be able to sell your 18's. I think the going price for good condition sahara wheels is about $200-$300.

(5) BFG KM2 35x12.5x18 ------> $1800.00

(5) BFG KM2 35x12.5x17 ------> $1500.00
(5) 17" Cragar soft-8 wheels ---> $450.00
sell 18" Sahara wheels ------> -$250.00 total comes to $1700.00

Keep in mind that these prices don't include any kind of shipping.

Here is 325/65/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers on a no lift X with Sahara rims. I actually had the opposite happen in wheels and tires as I found a good local deal on some 18

Do the 325's equate to 35" and are you getting any or much tire rubbing?

I kind of have a hook up on tires from a wearhouse here in L.A. so the cost difference of 17's to 18's shouldn't be that much for me. I am planning to get Rockstars at a later date in lieu of upgrading my speakers and amp now. Hopefully, my tax return will be bigger than I am expecting and will be able to get it all done, but I'm getting the back up plan together...LOL

I bought bedliner paint from AutoZone for $10 a can and sanded it down and painted them in my driveway in 1 hour

Wow, really? How do they look in person, On a scale of 1-10? Is that what people are using to spray the inside of the hard tops as well?? I really want to do that also, but don't want to be sorry in the long run.

This is a great combo. i have a bunch of pics posted on my gallery under JK Forum. I stepped up to 37"s now on the stock 18"s. Wish i would have went with 37"s to start with. Don't have pics posted of this setup but I would say go that route. The 35"s were nice but 37"s look so much better on the Unlimited.

I would say they are about as perfect as they could get. The rims had some chips and deep scratches from rocks and trails and you can see them under the paint, but you cannot tell from over 4' away..

The paint is bedliner paint that is mssing the little pieces of grit stuff.
