I'm thinking about picking these up from quadratec there $174 for a 17x9 wheel

Those are nice looking wheels, and I considered those and a couple of others like them. However, one of the main reasons I went with the Savegre's is ease of cleaning. A nice flat surface with no small cutouts or grooves. AEV wheels are also hub centric, which is a nice feature as well.

I had heard that the sidebiters were on backorder. May take some time to get them.

Considering a lift or leveling kit for my JKU. How are all finding the ride quality and handling with the leveling kit compared with stock? How difficult is the install? Is it a DIY kid of project?

The AEV kit I used retained the stock shocks and springs so the ride is virtually the same. The only thing I notice is a bit more body roll due to the higher center of gravity.
