33's or 35's? HELP!!!!
im getting ride of my unlimited tj "give to my little brother" and get me a new jk. (2 or 4 door i havnt decided yet.) im deffinatly getting a 2.5 lift but cant decide between 33's or 35's. im worried the 33's will look to small and the 35's will kill my mpg and make it slughish in overdrive. i wont be changing the gears, it will be a daily drived and occational tow vehicle.

I would not want to be running 35s on 4.10s--I will definitely regear
if I ever decide to do that.
As for MPG: I went from 20.5 MPG measured on stock tires during a
6K highway trip to 16.5 MPG measured on a 2.5K highway trip on 33s.
As for 33s being too small, here's what mine look like (specifics in
signature line):
RescueX's on 35s, TORN's on 35s and mine on 33s:

Here's mine on 33x11.50s with 3" lift. I have the 6-speed with 3.73s and don't use 6th unless I'm on the slab; otherwise the JK never sees top gear. That said, useful power is still there and there isn't really any perceptible difference in around town driving.
Like Mark, I'm satisfied with 33s and a mild lift. I don't really want to invest the cash necessary to regear, and I certainly would have to do that with 35s. The added wear on drivetrain and brakes is a consideration as well.

I went with 34's, but they are only a hair taller than 33's, I wanted something taller with only a little extra width since there is not much mud around here, just sand and snow. Auto transmission, it does OK and used to shift alot out of OD but got alot better with the Hypertech..

I went with 33's. When I got them they were filled to max psi and measured over 33", once I aired down to about 30psi the hit just about 33" on the nose. 35's would be nice, but for my purposes and taking the altitude into consideration I'm happy with 33's.

Was in same boat!
Dude i was in the same boat as you. BUT, i let the boys drop and i'm doing 35's. your buying a jeep. so you dont like to have gas! no matter how you look at it. you will have a gas guzzler! and like most say. i had 33's and wished i would of done 35's. don't be one of those. just go big the first time and save money in the long run. i've serched all the pic's on the site. and I would not be happy with 33's. But everyone is different. you might like 33's.
oh yea. and if you change your wheel's to 15's. the difference in cost between 33's and 35's is under 20 to 10 bucks a tire.
