3" lift +37's
Yes, it is possible to put 37's on a 3" lift
Not only is it possible, but functional!
I may be biased, but I like the 3" lift lower center of gravity.
With minor body/ fender trimming, there is no rubbing
Here are some other things done to make it work right & get more articulation:
-3" TF lift w/arms
-4" Bilstein shocks (They do not bottom)
-Front lower shock mount relocated outboard
-Swaybar links lengthened
-Rear upper/ lower spring retainers
-3/4" front leveling spacers (don't need unless fat in front)

Dude, .....you gotta have SOME rubbing going on???
My buddy has a 4" lift, 1.5" wheel spacers, running the same 37's that you have.....and he still rubs.
He did all the fender / body trimming. The only place he now rubs is on the frame behind the front tires, when he cuts the steering wheel ALL THE WAY left or right. theres about 1.5" of contact.

Your buddy just needs to adjust the front steering stops:

With trimmed or flat flares, you can run 37s without rubbing in the front with 2.5" extended bumpstops and a stubby bumper. Or, you can do it with 1.5" extended front bumpstops and a 1" body lift.
What matters is bumpstopping and fender clearance (from either a body lift or flat flares, or both). Spring height over 2.5" does not matter with 37s if you have the bumpstops and flat flares--and/or body lift.
With 4.5" or less backspaced wheels, you can turn full lock without rubbing if you do the steering stop adjustment with 4-5 washers.
In the rear, with the trimmed or folded over rear pinch seam at the front of the fender well, you can run 37s without rubbing with flat flares if your combined extended bumpstops and body lift is 3.5".
Here is a write-up I did on mine:

It may also help if your buddy's front axle comes forward an inch or so. As long as bumpstops line up you won't loose turn radius that way.
No rub
