Default 285 vs 265 duratracs

I've been looking all over and can't seem to find a definitive answer. I have a 4 door and am going to be buying new tires soon. I don't plan to lift it for awhile but would like to get some bigger tires. I've heard the 185s will rub with stock wheels. Just looking for any information to help with my decision. Thank you

The 285s (33") will rub offroad if you are stock without wheel spacers. The Duratracs run a little smaller so you may be OK on the street. You could always put on a leveling kit to prevent rubbing with the 285s. You should be fine with 265s on a stock suspension.

I just installed the Teraflex leveling kit last weekend (2" in front, 1" in back) and I had 285/70/17 duratracs installed yesterday. I have stock wheels, no spacers. So far, no rubbing on road. I don't know about off road though. Haven't had a chance to try yet. Here are a couple pics if it helps. I like that they don't stick out past the fender flares, but that's just my taste. I can't afford aftermarket wheels with smaller back spacing so I had to figure out something with the stock wheels. Plus I had them power coated. They were originally on my 09.

Oh I forgot to mention, river2c is right. They do in fact run small. I would go with the 285's

I just had 285/70R17 Duratracs installed yesterday. I have no lift, stick wheels and 1.5" spacers. EVERYTHING I have read says they will rub when offload or a full turn, like when in a parking lot and turning into a parking space.

I already had my wheel spacers on before I got these tires because I hated the look of the stock tires being so far in from the fender edges. With the Duratracs, they only stick out a little bit. I think they look pretty good.

With your spacers, you'll probably be fine for mall crawling, but off road you'll probably rub when you flex, especially if you disconnect your sway bar. I have 2" spacers up front, and will rub my same size Nitto Trail Grapps a few times every time I off road.

I have the exact same setup. No rubbing issues.

Heck yeah!

It's only been 2 days, but I love these tires!
