BRING BACK THE GOLDEN EAGLE! Give it bronze paint, the hood decals, half doors, retro wheels, and brown interior trim. Even if there were no performance upgrades, I'd definitely hit it.

Funny enough I grew up with an uncle who taught us how to drive a stick in his Golden Eagle. I loved that jeep. I guess that sort of explains why I bought a Mountain, I guess. It does have a certain 70s vibe.

But to each their own. They're all jeeps, right?

Default The Mountain Rocks!

I just traded in an '06 Unlimited and an '08 Yaris to get an Unlimited Rescue Green Mountain...took a day or two to get used to the color...as the two cars before it were black...but I love it. It's got all the luxuries of the two other cars combined into one vehicle. The power locks/windows, freedom top, sat radio, and the painted rubi rims are definitely my favorite features. I also liked the Islander edition...but they are just as hard to find if not harder than the mountain edition. There is also another color called "Mango Tango" that is offered in the Mountain package...it looks okay, but they use the same orange decal on the side of the hood. I like orange, but not that much orange...lol.

You can get a Rubi cheap enough if you shop around. I only paid $27,000 for mine.

I am in the same boat, I like the painted flares and have under $30k into mine and have gone where everyone else has. I wanted rescue green but ended up with steel blue but I am happy with how it turned out.

Looks OK stock, but once the modding begins, all that cosmetic crap you paid too much for is in the scrap pile.
Want a "Mountain Edition"? drive it up to the mountains.
Besides the hood sticker is pretty fn' gay.
