My son loves the jeep. He is still fairly compact at 27 lbs and 35 inches tall. But, when I ask him if he wants to go for a drive in daddy's jeep he says vroom vroom and grunts. He is definitely a boy who likes jeeps.

The newer models have a much better sliding passenger seat. On my '07 there was barely enough room to squeeze myself in to buckle the kids in. My '11 has about double or more the room to slide in past the seat, it slides all the way up to the dash almost. I find it pretty easy to buckle in my 2-year old. She does have a huge car seat though, and it wouldn't leave much room for the front passenger to sit. I need to put in her smaller car seat for legroom in the passenger seat. I have the Graco My Ride 65 car seat which is probably the biggest one out there.

I can tell you that I have a 2 door that is a company car. I have boys that are 2 and 3 years old and I just ordered an Unlimited. My wife has been using the Jeep for the last week because I ordered tires for her car and didn't want her driving our Tahoe till they came. She absolutely despises the Jeep for getting the kids in and out of the back. In the summer it was fine - top of and just set them back there. But with the top on the back is VERY difficult to access - getting kids into a booster or childseat is a pain in the you know what.

After driving the 2011 2 door Jeep for a week my wife said that if I had ordered a 2 door she would have made me cancel the order and eat the $1,000 deposit.

I have a two door with two kids. The Jeep is not family friendly at all,not to mention jeep changed the bracket so the passenger seat doesnt fold up towards the windshield like the TJ's did. I love my two door but the 4 door would be better suited for the family.

Default 4 door all the way

I have always loved the looks of the 2 door, but my 13 yr old boy is 5'5"" 140 lbs with size 11's and my 6 yr old daughter needs a boost climbing in the back (and its not lifted yet), man am I glad I went with the foe doe.

It's really no trouble getting him in and out. It's just us two and we fill it up with diaper bags back packs and other adventure items when we are together. :-) he digs it. I just hop in with him in my arms and pass him back to the seat. When he learns how to climb in I will just slide the pass seat forward. :-) I'll need or fab sliders by that time. Lol good excuse to buy em. ;-)

My jk seats both fold up towards the window with a little lift as they move forward. Maybe it's an '11 thing?
