Default what first guys?

With tax returns around the corner I'll be able to add to bigger add ons to my 13 Sahara. My question is what first. Roof rack, front bumper lift kit.. etc. I'm waiting on the tires because they are so expensive I want to wear down the dualers first. And also what is the best add on to hold a jerry can or two?

Fortunately for me, I hunted searched and begged to find phenominal deals on lifts..

I just bought my 4 inch pro comp lift... 600 bucks... 800 bucks with upgraded shocks (preference not required) works INCREDIBLE

also bought my body lift (1.25 rough country ) still uninstalled, along with several other parts.

my next install will be my 37 inch Pro Comp Xterrain Tires I picked up, 37/13.5/16 ... I need to buy wheels. my investment for wheels, tires, and lift will still be under 2,000.

after the tires go on, ill be sure to install my body lift and then my fender flares ..

I personally haven't found a roof rack appealing enough for me to commit to buying it. (more like haven't found one 2nd hand at an unbeatable price yet)

however I did invest in a set of 4 tube doors , a insta trunk, a cb radio setup, a tuffy lock box glove box, and mirror relocation brackets for under 600 bucks! .. (all 2nd hand most in BRAND new condition some still in boxes)

42 inch LED light bar Ebay 209.99 shipped.
10 Pod Rock Lights Ebay 50.00 shipped.

im petrified to get my taxes back, because if enough ill be upgrading my front axle to a dana 44. and re gearing my rear... keeping stock fenders, a 2.5-4 inch lift is going to be fine for you... will not look funny until you rip your fenders off, then you need to have a big tire under your jeep...

WHOA... slow down a bit...

What are your intentions with the jeep? Mall crawling or Rock crawling? Woods? Fire roads only? Beach? This all factors into the lift, tire and protection recommendations.

Where do you live? This matters as the protection recommendations will be different. On sandstone you can get away with aluminum skids, out here you need steel and sometimes that ain't enough.

One thing you can do before deciding on all the above is get your recovery kit together.

50' strap
CB
First aid kit
The list can go on... some people even take the kitchen sink with them.

Save your money, wheel with some locals, find out what you like to do, then build to that desire.

The most important mod for improving offroad capabilities is tire type & size, but, as you postpone that, I'd say --

Next, before other mods, airing down gives you traction, so -- something for airing down, pressure gauge (accurate to at least +/- 1 or 2 psi), compressor.

Recovery gear -- Bumpers which allow pulling, straps, shackles, etc'.

First aid kit.

Extra water/fuel & communication -- depending on how far off-civilization you go.

Skis plates.

I consider this list to be the minimum.

I join red09 recommendation to wheel for a while before spending on wheels, lift, etc'.

Yep, go out and wheel it while you are saving for tires. Recovery gear is also a good idea if you have to spend money.

Save your money, find some local clubs or even local forum members, do some wheeling, buy the universal essentials already covered (first aid kit, tow strap, etc). Experience will be your best guide as to what to do. You can throw $10k at the Quadratec catalog and still end up with something pretty mediocre.

Generally speaking, tires are your best mod, so save for those, and for what you need to run which ever size you choose.

Do you wheel at the Superlift park? I have heard it is pretty good but have not made it down there.

I've wheeled the park a few times. Very nice park.

Rock rails have proven to be one of my most relied upon mods. Highly recommended to protect your rig offroad.
