I would do what I am doing now! I bought a Sahara and put a long arm 4" lift 35" tires and plan to ruin my axles then replace them with 1 tons. The Rubi is nice but the extra 10k or so will get you further with custom axles, lockers, winch, ect. the D44 in the new rubi is the same axle tubes as the d30 but with upgraded shafts and would require lots of building which comes close to getting custom axles with better gearing and better lockers. Also if you want a new Rubi 4 door 30-36k wouldn't get you the options probably want. Odds are if you are going for black or red trails you will be upgrading very fast when you catch the bug! If you dont want to run blue and green rather than the harder trails go with a Rubi and you will be set with the stock one. I was recommended this by one of the best shops in MA Elis 4x4 when I was getting a new JKU he has a lot of customers dumping their Rubi parts for custom axles ect and wind up having dropped a lot on stock parts that are worth little when resold.

just my 2 cents and what I got from research and others advice

Just an FYI the rubi is only about 1000-1500 more than a Sahara. The 10k everyone throws around is to a stripped model with no power options.

I got a rubiconjku with soft top and connectivity package priced at 32k new at a dealership, through email. Shop around, negotiate and you can get a good deal. Considering my 2010 jku I bought in 2013 for 23k. Also if you plan on switching fenders or tires the Sahara is about the dumbest thing you can do.... But heck some people don't like money. Also I'm bad about responding so if you have questions just pm me.
