all sounds like good info just remeber

tow straps = no stretch
recovery or snatch strap = stretch (kinetic energy=good)
tree saver = no stretch, shorter and wider

If you're new to recovery, please remember that the descriptions and suggestions that we provide here are no substitute for "hands on" experience on the trail. As always, the best way to learn is to find your local Jeep (or other 4X4) club and go out on some "newbie friendly" runs with them. A reasonably experienced Jeep driver can teach you more in one good run than the world's foremost recovery expert could in a month worth of posting on the Interweebs.
