even tires with the same height... PSI will vary a bit from brand to brand. I will park my jeep level and a smooth surface, take a water hose and draw a very thin line of water and then drive over it. If it runs the full width, you have a suitable air pressure. I think some folks do this with chalk as well. Mine runs evenly at 30 psi on road.

I've dropped to 10 PSI offroad and have not broken a bead off road. 28 PSI on road.

30psi on MT Baja ATZ 285/75/17 rides well, after my tire guy had them pumped up to 40psi and it handled like c#*p
