I will definitely be down there during that timeframe. Part of the OBX experience for me is pulling the jeep right up through the sand and unloading the family steps from the beach

To fish. To watch a 15 minute video and they give you a sticker. Just don't leave food on the beach and take everything you brought with you and don't drive drunk and you will be fine. I live in Va Beach and trek down there weekly because it is so much better than crowded local beaches.
Not sure on the exact place in Nags Head, wife made reservations. We were originally looking to stay in Corova? I think.. I will look up Oregon inlet for sure. Thanks!

Awesome! We will have 3 JK's, my Billet 2dr Rubi, my wife's White 2dr Rubi, and our friends Commando JKU freedom edition. Just look for the 3 Jk's w/ the Jolly Rogers waving, lol. Would love to meet up with some fellow Jeepers!

This is a Facebook group called Oregon Inlet Idiots, a tribute to the people who don't really know what's up. It's a video they made:

I am down in Corolla now and was just out on the beach the other day. I have been coming down for 8-9 years now and been wheeling back on the dunes and trails for awhile up on North Beach. I don't have my jeep down but I was riding with my brother in his FJ cruiser. The back trails arent necessarily illegal, what is illegal is getting to close to the wild horses. As long as you don't drive like a jackass you will be fine. Some homeowners back there tend to complain and get extremely angry, but like i said as long as you drive fine you wont have any troubles.

12 North from Corolla is free and you will see wild horses. Brought 13 Rubicon and had a blast

I have had a house down here for about ten years now. I live in Northern Virginia and come down as much as possible. I think the best time is in the off season. Oct. - Feb. Not a lot of traffic and they open the whole beach from Duck all the way to Corova. The only access to the beach during the summer up North at Corova, or where 12 turns on to it. Keep the speed at or below 15 mph and you should be fine. Getting over the dunes is fun and the other side is much better. Don't drive like an ass, respect other people, their property, and give the horses room. Have fun wheel safe!

Rubicati......whereabouts down there is your house? I've got friends with a house down before the beach just down the road from Harris Teeter in H,I,J,O section.
