Thanks for the input! I was beginning to think " How do all these other Winch companies stay in business if they all make junk but Warn?".

A few things to note about winching when you do get one.

Never winch with an automatic in park. You will brake off the park tab if you do.

Steer your tires to the direction you are winching in. A broken tie rod could be the result if you dont.

Don't use your winch more than 30 seconds without letting it cool for at least 15 seconds before you start again unless you don't want your winch to last very long.

Good idea to put your hood up to protect your windshield.

Place a coat or something similar on the cable just in case it does break to dampen the stored energy.


I am sure there is more, but these are general rules that i use.
