more capable with no lift

They do their job And maintain the factory components/ride. Doing a small 1 inch puck to regain the height youve obviously lost due to the weight of sliders and winch, will just put you back where you were before. A 2 inch would gain you a bit more. Your steering Wouldn't be affected from that amount.
They Dont gain you any flex per say over stock but it will keep your belly up a bit. I highly recommend quick discos, they help keep all the wheels on the ground, improving traction in uneven terrain.
Stay muddy my friends

It looks to be you have a 2 dr is that correct? I run TF spacer kit with higher rate of coil springs 18/59's. Gave me a slight lift and helps with added weight as well. Also, have Rubi shocks which are better than the stock sport I replaced.

Really its only the ruts and some of the creekbanks that ive tried to climb that ive had a little trouble with. Im kinda thinking about new shocks too, just more or less for a smoother ride. Im kinda thinking about the rancho 9000's since theyre adjustable, unless theres something similar for a better price

to be honest we have the same train here in Virginia and even with my Jeep locked front and rear climbing up some hills out of a creek I still loose traction tires and have to winch up.

Ok so a lift won't help with traction.you have good tires so the next thing you could add to improve traction would be a Locker.

I ran for a year with a Teraflex level "puck" kit. 2" front, and 1" rear. It wasn't enough to mess up the geometry, but gave my front end just enough of a lift so I wasn't burying the bumper in whatever I was trying to get over. Some type of skid plates help slide over stuff. I ran Nitto trail Grapplers, and they seem to hook up really well.

The TF 2.5 is more complete. The great thing you can get lift w/o shocks, extenders or their shocks. I have not that good comments on their shocks. I would get better shocks or just run yours with the extenders until you are ready to get new ones. The deal you found sounds like something worth checking up on though.
