Hi-Lift Restoration
Good morning everyone. Its been a long time since I posted on here but I will jump right into it.
My father just got me a hi-lift for my birthday and its aged pretty well, with only some rust on it. Not sure how old it is, or any of its past. What I would like to do is take it down to bare metal, repaint it and bascially take it apart and overhaul it.
I'll be honest, I've never worked on one before. So any advice, type of paint I should use, oil, or really any information would be great.
Thanks in advance.

The biggest thing with them is keeping them oiled. Powdercoating gets chipped and scratched when it gets used. They're very simple to service and I doubt that you actually need to do a rebuild since there are very few parts that can wear on it. A couple of springs and pins is about the extent of it.
