Default Entry level winch

I'm looking for an entry level winch for my JKU. Which is better: Rugged Ridge 8500 lb or Engo E9000? Obviously the E9000 can pull more weight but where can I buy one at a good price? Also Rugged Ridge is free shipping on quadratec.com. Hard to beat that. Anywhere I can get the Engo for free shipping?

I just purchased the Engo 12000 with synthetic line and a neoprene cover from Rockridge4wd via ebay and got free shipping as well. Seems like a very nice winch but i don't have anything to compare it to. As far as i know they are both made in China.

I have experience with both and either will work well and get the job done. I got my engo e9000 from Jason at krawl-offroad. He is an awesome guy to deal with.

Got my Engo 9000 from Chris at Jeep Add-ons he is at ext 1884. He is great to deal with and may still be giving a discount to forum members. Tell him I sent you if you go there.

I plan on getting a superwinch. My local Leonards dealer has quoted me $350 with synthetic line. Not many negative reviews that I can find, the opposite actually.

Here is one with cable on amazon for $299.

Amazon.com: Superwinch 1585202 LP8500 Winch Gen II 12 VDC 8500lbs/3856kg, steel hawse, handheld remote: Automotive

Why do you want an entry level winch? Just buy a good quality winch once and forget it. Your original post said the Q-tec has free shipping on RR. Q-tec gives us free shipping on everything, you have to call them and place the order on the phone, telling the person that you're a member here.

just my 2 cents. I bought a 9500 Quadratec winch and love it. i know everyone loves Warn in the jeep community but im in college and that is WAY out of my price range. plus i could buy 2 QT winches for the price of warn. and im not scared to scratch the paint on a cheap one. plus its a 9500lb winch,

Just received my Q9500i yesterday. Will be installing this weekend and plan on running a few tests pulls with it. I haven't been able to find any reviews on it, either positive or negative, so I figured it can't be any worse than some of the others out there. Got free shipping with the forum membership and it arrived in 3 days. Not too bad IMO.

well let me be the first then! the QT 9500 is awesome its basically the exact same as the 11500 one except the gearing is different. I have a big 4 door very heavy and i have pulled myself out of sink holes with it. even once had to hook it up and use it while it was a foot under water, no issues. QT has a good product. especially for the price.
