If you're new to wheeling, go play on the greens and get a feel for what your jeep can do. Chances are, it is more capable than you think. Word of advice, don't do any mud holes that have a name...frog hole, sunken treasure ect
My first wheeling trip ever was at RC in a bone stock JKU. After a full and exhausting day of running greens and blues I was able to drive home with my plastic air dam and side steps unscathed. I'm not telling you to do it only that it can be done. The trails we ran had go arounds at the more difficult blue obstacles. There is no shame in taking the go around. There is also no shame in letting your skid plates do what they're intended to do. Best advice I've read so far is DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY NAMED OBSTACLES

Any tips on what I should bring with me to rausch creek?
The most important thing a person can bring to Rausch is experience. Experience can come in many forms. One is running the trails and taking the lumps yourself, NOT recommended. I recommend going with a group of experienced people and a trail guide who knows their stuff. Just like math and your ABC's you were not born knowing how to wheel. I marvel at the trail guides who can take the lead.

Something else to bring is the understanding that stuff can go wrong and the willingness to accept that things can break. Even the highly modded Jeeps suffer from mishaps.

Try to line up behind another stocker, watch the guys in front of you, don't be embarrassed to ask for help, LISTEN TO YOUR SPOTTER. Bring a change of underwear and some fun.

Yeah, Having an experienced spotter is a must for someone new to wheeling. Provided that spotter knows what he's doing, VERY important to trust that spotter and follow his directions. If something doesn't feel right, STOP, get out, and have him explain why he's having you do what he's telling you to do.

I myself love helping out new jeepers. The smile on their faces is rewarding.

This is the best info someone can give..helping others is so much fun for me...I was always out by myself till I joined here!!! ... Always remember too that ur spotter WILL NEVER make u do something that you don't feel comfortable doing. They will be more than happy to explain why they are taking u up the line they are taking you.... You must ALWAYS do what the spotter says. That's the competent person there. There is a family run there next month u should go to that. It's green trails only and it's for beginners! A buddy of mine went last year and he's going back this year.... Said it was a blast! I never did that run but every time I've been there I've had a blast to. Get to know ur group and the spotters the the group. Go out and have fun! Remember the spotter wants to keep the shiny side up as much as you do!

A stock Jeep can do blues and green! Your going to hit for sure but the jeep can take the damage. Invest in some skid plates and go at it man! Message me, theres a dude who takes a crew out once a month who is a good buddy of mine. Been wheeling over 20 years and knows his shit! One of the best spotters i know! Worked for AEV and wheeled all over! He would be a good guy to join up with!
