Just a side note.
When using a fire extinguisher, please aim at the base of the fire.
If you aim at the flames you are wasting your time.

Good find...

I've learned the hard way to keep an eye on the age of the fire extinguisher too. It's easy to throw it in the jeep and forget about it until it's too late and you need to use it only to find it discharged.

Fortunately, the fire I was trying to put out was in a burn barrel at my gun range and not my jeep, but it was a lesson learned for me.

Just left Walmart with a 3lb (gross wt.) dry chem kidde extinguisher. It's red and only cost 18$. It was located in their home repair section with light bulbs and stuff. Not bad.

You can count me in with those who ponied up over $100 for a H3R Halguard. Reason is, I don't want to JUST put the fire out if one happens, I want to drive my jk home too.

I hear that, if I could, I would. For me it's a case of something better than nothing. I have a very fine budget for the JKU, two babies at home....

X2. More of a safety thing for me. The jeep can be repaired or replaced.

Usually the Jeep club mandatory list is something like this:

fire extinguisher
tow strap
CB radio
first aid kit
spare tire
roll bar or a metal roof

Also - all the factory standard safety pieces, like seat belts, lights, etc have to work.

CW covered most things we require in the post above. I have our club's list on our website Jeepmastersofaugusta.com if you want to check it out.
