Default dbo342000's 2008 JKU build

Hello all,
I purchased a used JKU 3 weeks ago.
My plan is to build a rig focused on functionality, but also a few "look good" parts.
I will be posting here the mods i do as well as my opinions on the install, function of the mods.

So to begin with,
I have a black 2008 JKU Sahara with hardtop.
It has 89k miles and a few issues to be addressed.
It comes with plenty of trail rash in the form of scratches inside and out.
It has a 2 or 2.5 budget boost installed already. No idea what brand.
It also has 1.5 wheel spacers.
Came with a warn front winch bumper, but no winch.
And there are some chrome teardrop lights installed on the bumper wired to a simple $2 rocker switch mounted on the lower dr. Side dash.

So that is the starting point. I will attach some pics for reference

Installed some LED headlights

The stockers were crap. Couldnt see a thing with those.

These are some morimoto JW Speaker knock offs.
They are good quality and really bright.
Got them for $160, good deal right?
Well the reason they are so cheap is because the housing castings are wrong.
The locators were cast in the wrong position. Had to do extensive grinding on the buckets to get them to fit.
Probably took 4 hrs to install these. But o am quite happy with the results and the money saved over some JE Speaker lights.

I am a bit of a punisher fanatic.
Expect to see much more on this theme integrated to my build.

Good choice on the tires man. If I could offer some advise. When you can, swap those wheels out to something smaller. You will save money on tires in the future.

Update
So i do some sort of work every weekend.
I did paint the wheels black - i used VHT black wrinkle. So far no issues with chiping or flaking

Also swapped the chrome teardrop lights for some black LED pods (sorry forgot to take pics)

Removed the rest of the silver Sahara trim on the back bumper. Now fully blacked out. Yes i had to remove the bumper to get at the 6 screws along the top.

And finally i did a "Muffler Delete"
Just unbolted the stock muffler and running straight through cats and resonator.
Not sure how i fell about this one yet. Its quite aggressively loud. Reminds me of being 18yrs old and not having money to fix my rusted out exhaust. Keep thinking o will hear that "ting ting ting" of a mufgler dragging the ground and have to swipe some of the wife's coat hangers to fix it.
