Anyone runnning the new generation Truck-Lite LED head-lamps, and if so, what is your real world experience with them? I have read that the scratch up easily, but they are bright as can be. I'm not to worried about the x, but is this for real?

I want new headlamps, but $600 for headlamps is steep, so I want to make sure people are happy with them before I commit. Is there another option that will give me that much light for less money and a tougher lens cover that won't scratch?

Thanks in advance...
Jacob

yes they scratch easily, it doesn't impede the light output at all. Yes they are 1000x's better than stock and about 500x's better than the IPF's or Deltas (both of which I have owned), they fit the least bit loose in the factory buckets, but it is easily solved with 2 seconds of time wrapping a small piece of electrical tape around one of the key's that fit into the holder. They have an amazing cutoff pattern and light up the night like you wouldn't believe. There is one "hotspot" unlike the previous version that had multiple hotspots and if you're picky these things will bother you, if you're not they really won't and you'll be really happy with your purchase like I was. Sorry for the ultra quick breakdown and if you need more info there are already about 5 or 6 threads on these headlamps so do a quick search and you can find plenty more info.

How about longevity? I'm hearing that led's aren't holding up.

they've been out for a month I think? so there's not going to be any real world numbers on that for a while.
