There are several threads on this - search for optima or battery and you'll find them. Most of it comes down to personal preference based on what you use your Jeep for. There are a lot of batteries better than stock and Yellow Top is one of them.

There is no comparison. The Optima is far superior in every way.

Who said a battery would void your warranty? They're full of shit, plain and simple. My stock battery lasted all of 24 hrs before I went red top. 3 years later and still no complaints....this same battery spent another year in another jeep and 5 years in another truck beforehand.

The Magnusson-Moss Act is the body of legislation that covers warranties in the U.S.. Basically it states that a warranty can be voided only if that unspecified aftermarket part directly caused a given failure; say your Optima Yellow Top had dead cells and caused the alternator to fail, in a case where the alternator would normally be covered by warranty.

Manufacturers can say what and what is not covered all day, but when you get down to legal action, the Magnusson-Moss Act is a good law to know and have a general understanding of.
