Default xsvi-6522 problem

Hey all
Installed my xsvi-6522 harness yesterday in my 08 wrangler x without infinity system. Connected to Sony cdx-gt610ui headunit. Initialized harness with power turned on for 30 seconds without radio being on per manufacturer instructions. Radio faceplate doesn't illuminate. Reset headunit under faceplate and could hear appropriate noise, but still no power to faceplate.

Any ideas?

I found out today that my headunit is being powered by the yellow (constant power) wire from the xsvi-6522 harness. Still nothing on the red (switched power) from the harness.

Thanks

I replaced my HU with a Sony, used that wire harness, see this thread:

Are you saying that your red wire has no power on it? It should.
Yellow is constant, Red is accesory.

I have a cdx-gt610ui sitting in a box under my desk at home.
Oh the troubles I had trying to incorporate it into my dash really caused me quite a bit of frustration. I tried the metra harness and had a different set of issues. In the end I gave up and am waiting for a pulled mygig to show up on ebay for cheap.

the cdx-gt610ui has been my favourite head unit ever owned, so it sucks that it's sitting in a box for now, i'm considering selling it.

As stated, the red wire should be hooked up per harness instructions.

Mine worked great from the very beginning, check your connections and make sure it is wired properly. If all is good, return it for another one.

Hey all,
Thanks to everyone for their help.
still not getting power on the red wire coming out of harness.
I am using the yellow wire to power radio, shutting on and off manually.
Looks like a defective harness.
