Geez, just ordered new bumpers and a winch is clearly in the future for me. All this talk is getting me nervous. I hate electricity and working on these types of projects. Other than a winch, what should also be included on my shopping list?

1) solenoid - like the idea of a cutoff switch from within the cab. would this be installed on the positive cable to the battery?
2) 400 amp fuse. Would this also be installed on the positive cable to the battery? If so would this be installed before or after the solenoid starting from the battery?

Is there anything else? Can I run all of this off 1 stock battery and stock alternator?

PS - currently I'm running 2x100 watt lights and will soon have 2 more 130 watt lights on the front bumper and 2x55 watt lights in the back bumper.

I'm running the winch, and 2 Lightforce 170's and I'm fine on the stock equipment. I do plan on a yellow top in the future and I haven't taxed the system too hard running everything for extended periods.
The fuse has to be on the positive cable as close to the battery as you can. I guess the cutoff can go either pos or neg. Never though to put it on the neg side.
