Wiring Help!!!!!
I am installing some offroad lights and have a question on the wiring. I need a 12volt source under the dash to tie in the wiring harness. Pictures would be helpful.

The cig lighter on the right side of the shifter is always hot. So if you tap into this the lights can be used anytime, without the Jeep being on, or even without the key being in the ignition. The accessory port on the left side of the shifter only has power when the ignition is switched to on.

Maybe I should have mentioned, but the lead on the wire is at the fuse box in the engine compartment, if I had some mechanical background I'm sure I could find a connection. I just need a connection at the fuse box. If anyone who has 2012 knows of a connection I can tap into that would be great.

Yes a relay was included in the harness, the wire I need to connect has a 3amp fuse, so I am concerned about gong directly to the battery. I harness has a black ground that I connected to the body by the engine, a yellow hot that was connected to the positive, on the battery, this wire also has an inline fuse, the wire to connect says that it has to go to a 12volt source, and has a 3 amp inline fuse.

The fuse has nothing to do with how powerful the battery is, it keeps the wire and whatever it is connected to it from drawing more than 3 amps. Think about this. The fuse box in your house is feed by a 200 to 400 amp service line that then has 15 and 20 amp fuses feeding the wires in the house, same concept.

You can also get a fuse tap and take the power from a switched source in the fuse box. See thread below. Just cut out the inline fuse and use a 3amp in the fuse tap.
