Default Wiring fog lights,... do or don't

I'm installing PIAA driving and fog lights on 2012 JKU. Is there any reason why I shouldn't wire the switch to the parking light wire? Turns the switch on, when lights are on... seems to work great. Every thread I seemed to find was everyonr was having a hard time finding a wire to attach to. Is it just this easy or will I blow something up.

I wired both of my sets to the parking light wires. Works great. I didn't want to have to have the headlights on for them to work.

I wired my 520s to the 12v plug that is hot when the jeep is on. That way, I can't accidentally leave them on when I walk away, but I can turn them on without the other lights being on

I think it has something to do with your local driving laws...not sure if you're legally allowed to have fog/driving lights on unless conditions permit it, especially if you can't shut them off seperately from your parking lights. As far as technically whether or not you're going to fry something, I have no idea whatsoever

did you have to pull the dash off to get to it, or were you able to find it at the CB box? I "quickly" looked at that option, but realized even quicker, it was going to be a Pain to feed the wire.

This is the main reason wht they want you to wire to the parking lights

Most of the laws I've seen are based on not letting the lights function with the high beams. Connecting the control circuit to accessory power will allow the lights to function anytime the key is on. And connecting the control circuit to the parking lights/marker lights will allow the lights to function only when those lights are on.

I also did that, connected to the 12v cigarette lighter blue and pink wire in my 2012 to power my switch. Light switch works but when I leave them on, if I shut down the jeep, the lights stays on.. Why is that?

In my '12 one is switched and one isn't. I believe the one in the center arm rest is always on and the one in the dash is switched.
