Wipers stay on when the jeep is on. Common issue?
My wipers suddenly wont turn off. As soon as I turn the Jeep on, the wipers start and I cant turn them off or even vary the speed.
I googled the problem and saw that several others had the same issue, but never really found a solution or even cause to the issue.
I dont have a multimeter here with me so I cant easily check for shorts. As of now I have one of the fuses pulled for the wipers, but it also eliminates any control over my headlights or blinkers.
When I started my Jeep today the battery sounded low (turned over slow before starting). I dont know if that is possibly due to the issue Im having, or maybe causing the issue Im having.
Any tips?

Strange things happen when the battery voltage gets low. Look into that first.
Have you disconnected the battery negative terminal for a few minutes? That will sometimes reset things in the TIPM.

i had the same problem with my parking lights.. it turned out to be a switch issue on the control stalk. ... the swtich the turns them on/off.. so i took that apart and cleaned it.. fixed the problem... could be the same issue with the wiper control stalk.

Take a size 6 and a half balpeen hammer and make sure your fuze box understands that its life is in danger if it keeps acting up, and that all the fuses are firmly smacked into place.
