Someone had PMed and asked about photos of the wiring, so I took a few today:

The WHite and Yellow go to the + battery

Mounted here are the fuse box and the relay

The longer extension along with the switch wires (white and green long wires) along the back

Through this hood panel

I had bought the black 14" antenna from AntennaX on Ebay... DON'T!!! Within 2 days of install the antenna fell out of the mount... i don't mean came unscrewed. I mean the antenna became two separate pieces. Attempts to contact AntennaX continue to go unanswered. Back to orig. topic:

I have KC Slim Long's on KC brackets. I prefer the up/in. Great visibility, not alot of glare. Switch is up high, on the plastic column surrounding the roll bar over the driver. Don't have a pic, will add later this week. Needed it as a cutout for states where they are illegal (I drive through them alot). But otherwise they're wired into the highs.

I forgot to post this...I noticed complaints by a few of you about the glare on the hood and so forth with pillar/hood mounted lights...

KC for example makes these bracket attachments that go under the light, and cut off the pattern where it would hit the hood, etc:

An example link:

Hope that helps if you need it.

If those brackets are the only course of action...I would rather drive at night with sunglasses on. Those are hideous. They look like upside down baseball caps. Now, maybe the hardcore folks wouldn't care but those are just ugly. My $.02.

Default Glare ?? nope

Many worry about hood glare before adding windshield spots but it really doesn't exist, IMO. I had fogs which throw the light out everywhere and glare has never been an issue.

To improve depth I recently swapped the windshield lights from the 6" Delta fogs to 8" KC long range (& put the fogs on the new front bumper).

Sure, any windshield spots will illuminate the hood more than none, but glare...no

I imagine a stripe or a band of black paint across the lower edge of the glass would do about the same thing.

Frankly...I just prefer the grill area mounts.

A few guys I wheel with have also painted their hoods flat black...cuts the sun glare during the day, and the aux lighting glare at night.

Me, I have almost no color vision, so, I can see in the dark like an owl....I'll wheel with ALL the lights off.
