I would keep in mind some products deteriorate/rot pretty bad or don't do well soaked with water, road salt, etc and may do more harm. The thicker it is may also allow for more stuff to get in between. Just my 2 cents.

X2 be careful what you use, I used a piece of neoprene sail boat mast boot, really thin. just trimmed with a blade arround the MBRP mounts. IPF lights

the rugged ridge light brackets have a foam material on them for protection
