Default Winch battery cables

OK. I have decided to install my solenoid (ENGO 10K) under the hood of my '13 JK. So I started searching for longer cables. I need 3 of them. What is the difference between standard battery cable and welding cable? I think I'm understanding correctly in that you can use either type for this type of project. Called Engo and they said I need 3 gauge wire.

welding cable is more flexible and has many small strands, usually 30 AWG wires.Click image for larger version

Where did you find a place under your hood to mount the solenoid? I have a 2012 and can't find a place to mount mine. Mind showing a pic of how you mounted yours up?
