I have a 10g wire from my battery to a homemade relay fuse block mounted under the glove box. The wire goes through the fire wall at that little hole next to the door jam

Before you start tearing everything apart try running a ground wire from your antenna mount to a good ground on the body or chassis. I think you are depending on a good ground to travel through the hinges on the rear gate and you aren't getting a good ground. May not be the problem but it is a simple and quick test.
