I am considering putting a PA system in my jk. Does anyone have one, what are your thoughts and which one do you have? Would it get ruined if rain/mud got on it?

I have one. 30 watts from Uniden. I love it. So much fun. Mud and water won't harm it, granted I don't have it switched on when water crossing or mudding.

I dont have one but I'm considering the same thing with the same questions you do and I'm pretty sure from what I was looking at was the in grille police maga phones they are high quality black, small and loud and hook nicely into your radio in not sure what it would take to mount it do it was more protected. So I would just browse that kinda thing idk maybe you can snag one at a police auction or off an old crown Vic

 

I'd be tempted to use it too much here in Pittsburgh telling everyone what an asshole they are in traffic.

 

Dont have mine installed yet but recently bought a electronic air horn / PA system from Speedtech lights. I ll report back once i have it installed.

I have the Uniden 520 cb with PA speaker.. I mounted it on a slight slant downward with a zip tie up under the hood driver side.... Up by windshield.

I cant decide if i want one or not, i dont want to get in trouble with it, but it is no fun if you dont use it on the road...

 

I chose a Uniden 520 with a PA. I bought the speaker from RadioShack for 25$ and mounted it on the battery side with a few zip ties. It was quick and dirty work and I'll have to clean it up later but it works well. The Uniden 520 only puts out like 10w to the speaker so I'm planning on getting one of those small motorcycle amps to use the full 50w. It's loud enough to scare the hell out of folks walking on the street or to tell some careless cellphone user on the road to put down the phone. Most folks jump, drop the phone and look around for a cop.

I just smile and drive on
