Default What's the deal with the stock radio...?

So I purchased an X with just the stock radio on a 2008 4 door. Before that, I had a 2007 X 2dr stock. Both systems were stock without a subwoofer. I was playing around with my 2 door and wonder if maybe I tweeked it. So here's what I was wondering?

If you look at the back of the single cd raidio, there's two females where it can be hooked up. Has anyone tried using the other one? I was hoping it would bypass the filter to the rear speakers....

I need help with a shopping list to upgrade. My goal is to keep the stock but upgrade the speakers and add a power subwoofer. So I assume I need the following:

1) Front Speakers. What size?
2) Rear Speakers. What Size?
3) I'm looking for a small but powerful sub that won't take up a ton a room.
4) For the speakers.... Is there an amplifier I could hook into then relay it back out with more power, treb and bass?
5) Any other suggestions.

I know... I'm keeping the stock because I have lost to many radios. Don't ask me, but when I visited Houston...the broke my entire glass just to take a radio without a face.... To make things even carzier... the face was on the seat and the doors where open... Oh well...

Kenwood KSC-SW1
Infinity Basslink
Stealth Pod

I have the Kenwood, but the others are good too. The Kenwwood will fit under the Driver's seat so it's completely out of the way and out of sight. The other two will need a little space in the back by the tailgate.
