My e-disco failed at around 55,000km. Although I didn't have the same consequences or failures, just the flashing light. Had it replaced under warranty. It still works, but I have just added quick connects and will probly start using those on the more flexy trails, and just the e-disco on easy stuff. Even connected, the e-disco can still limit travel a little, especially in a lifted jeep. It's a cool feature, but in the end not reliable and not necessary.

I have read through the thread and have a question. If you are in the middle of no where and the e-disco fails on you, what is the best / only thing to do to get the jeep back to going? Unplug it, lift battery cable for a period of time to try and reset TIPM? Just want to get a handle on how to take care of this if/when it happens and I am away from home. Thanks

E disco is a ticking time bomb. Either that it will fail and not re connect ( dangerous if you make a hard emergency turn). Or that if wires fry short it effects the entire can bus and computer system. Many have reported fried TIPM modules from shorting E disco connector.
Mine shorted caused entire dash to go bonkers, luckily i unplugged it and no TIPM damage. Bagged connector. Bagged motor so far so good but dash light flashes. A procal unit could resolve this though.
My advice if you are not just a city mall crawler is to plan to replace it with a non edisco sway bar and purchase one of the many cheap and great options from after market. Oem sway bar when disconnected i believe will give greater flex.
Evo makes a $80 knob to add to your e disco motor that works well and allows you to manually actuate the OEM motor however.... If the motor seizes or fails to operate again you are screwed and cant engage the sway bar.
Good idea in theory for e disco horrid way over engineered piece of crap in reality.
