Default Using fuse-tap for lights (aux).

Hi
I tried JK-Fords idea of using a fuse-tap instead of splicing into parking lights. It did not work. I'm using it right now hooked to the battery until I tap into parking lights. I believe the problem is the 2013 JK fuse box is different than older ones. It only has two openings for extra fuses. I tried both - no luck. Any thoughts?

I would use a multi-meter or a voltage test light to check the fuse slots in question. Check with ignition on to find power (write the # down if there are several) then check again with ignition off and compare. This will tell you where you have switched power.

If you already have this wired with the fuse tap then you could do the same test with whatever accessory it is wired to, just plug and unplug fuse tap until you see accessory turn on.

Look at your fuse box cover. It should tell you what the empty spots are allocated for. Also, review the cover for accessory fuses that you don't currently have installed. Maybe "Heated Seats"? There should be a fuse holder for these. And they will be on the accessory circuit.

Hope you have better luck.

If you can't get it to work, tapping the parking light works fine.
