Upgrading stock radio?
#21
Ok so I didn't want to spend too much seeing I am currently doing a couple other upgrades to my jeep. So I went with a Pioneer AVH-X2800BS. So it gives me Sirius and I can use the NAV on my phone to the unit. So I got the receiver, Sirius Tuner and wiring harness. Problem looking at them and I see a small issue but maybe someone can help me here.
I get most of the wiring the harness to the wires from the receiver ie yellow to yellow for the power, wires for the speakers etc. So the harness has the main large grey plug that will connect to the harness for the car. From there, there are wires that go nowhere and need to be spliced to the wires that connect to the receiver for the power, speakers etc...got it. Then there are additional wires that go to two smaller plugs. One of those I know connects to the little black box for the NAV interface. Got that all squared away. However the other wires go to another plug and I have no place to plug that in in the car nor the receiver. In addition that plug has a few wires that are running out of it that seem they need to be spliced/connected to other wires. One of those is labeled for illumination/dash light, a red one for the ignition switch, the other three are not labeled but are solid light green (I'm thinking this is the parking brake light that needs to be connected to one of the wires coming from the receiver), a green with a solid line and a blue with a solid line. Now my guess is because the original radio in the was a basic stock radio I am missing that extra plug that would have came from the car for the parking brake etc. So question is, how am I to connect those? Do I need to cut into the wires that are in a sleeve behind and just below the radio or am I missing something? Maybe it may be easier to understand if I wire up everything I understand tonight and then take a picture of the wires remaining.
Sorry if this seems to be a stupid question. I know I can bring it in for someone to install it but I would much rather do it myself and learn....lol

If your interested in staying stock I have a 430 (7" display) I would be willing to sell. It came out of my 2015 and is only ~7 months old. Would just have to double check it would work in a 2010 If you want aftermarket the nex 4200 is a very nice option, that's what I just installed. 2015 Hydro Blue JKU

Can you elaborate or show on this? What do you mean direct plug in for the GoPro? Can you actually see the live feed from the GoPro on your screen? Was this done with a lock pic? Or just a simple connection? Or programming? That really peaks my interest, because this would be sweet for a lot of things! Especially for me out storm chasing! Thanks!
