Default Upgrade to Infinity system

Anyone know how difficult, or what is involved in upgrading a stock system to the Infinity system?

No but if you interested I am going to replace mine with aftermarket.

Will have radio, amp, speakers and sub for sale.

Honestly I don't think its worth your time and money to do the upgrade. The system is "OK" at best. I have it and it works, but its the worst stereo I've ever had as far as "premium" goes. Aftermarket will get you a much better sound..

To better explain what I am trying to do -

I have an 07 with the Infinity. I just purchased an 08 without the Infinity. I was debating about taking the Infinity from the 07 and putting it in the 08. Just was not sure how much effort it was. There is big sound difference between the two systems though.

I am guessing the speakers are different and there is an amp somewhere.

But it could be a big pain in the butt to make the changes, so might just leave it as is.

I may be interested in that when you upgrade. PM me a price if you don't mind.

Default Infinity or no infinity

I'm obviously a newb to the forums, but not to Jeeps. How do I tell if I have an infinity system? I have the single disc mp3 player, tweeters, sub, etc, but I don't see anywhere that it says infinity. How can I tell? I'm going to upgrade my HU to a Avic-Z1 and need to know which harness to get. Thank you for the help!

If you have the sub, you have the infinity.

I could be wrong, but if you have the sub I believe you have the infinity system. And if memory serves, Infinity is on the backs of the speakers.

Default Yep, if it was a snake it would've bit me!

Yes, it says Infinity on my sub, so I guess that answers that question.
Thanks for the help!

there are soo many options when it comes to sound systems that it's hard to choose... aftermarket stereos are more likely to get stolen then stock ones, which is why i would be a bit more comfortable with a good sounding stock stereo, however the quality of an after market stereo is just awsome. i'm not quite sure what to do yet, one guy on one of these posts put in a Pioneer Touch screen that looked freekin' sweet....
