I am playing an order for an 08 soon, I want the 7Speaker Infinity Package, but I dont want the upgraded 6Disk changer (never listen to CDs ever anymore), but was gonna add Sirius (even though I am an XM type of guy). It got me thinking, with the upgraded speaker package, can I not get the sirius, and get a niec Alpine HU, and have it work with the upgraded speaker package?

How will the sound compare?

Yes you can do that. Just purchase the Metra CHTO-03 wiring harness. This allows you to use the factory amplified Infinity system with an aftermarket h/u of your choice.

You will also need to buy the antenna adapter if you plan on using AM/FM with your new head unit. It's Metra 40-EU10.

Is the sound quality improved with going to an Alpine H/U? I am not really a fan of Sirus (i love XM), and can save the $200 or whatever it cost if I went with an after market H/U instead and then got my XM

I've seen multiple posts on this, but it is not clear to me which metra harness to order. Some say CHTO-03 and some say CHTO-013. So which application for keeping the infinity amp and whih for bypassing the infinity system?

Also varifing Antenna Adapter as part # 40-eu10.

I am looking to install Kenwood DNX 7100 and continue using factory Infinity system.

I have an 08 Sahara on order and the standard options are:

6 Inifinity Speakers w/Subwoofer
AM/FM CD MP3 Radio
Sirius Radio

This sounds like the configuration you want. I do not see why you couldn't get this configuration on other models as well.
