Default Tuna Fish? can ya Tune a CB?

I just finished tuning (I think) my CB in the driveway. Tried to raise anyone with ears on, on various channels, but no response.

The radio shack cigarette lighter plug adapter works fine with my 18WXSTII.

Weather channel 1 comes in loud and clear (well, noaa and dulles airport are within concievable walking distance)

Yup.
I got 1 and 40 to stay around 2.0 with 19/20 being 1.5 or so.

I'm confused a bit due to the cable and swr meter being between the CB and the antenna. When I pull that equimpent out, won't the over all everything change?

It won't change. That's a pretty good match. What kind of antenna are you using?
